Renovations

August 16, 2008 · Leave a Comment

After a failed attempt at a bigger target, Felix and I stumbled upon these two buildings located in Old-Montreal. According to the blueprints we found on the ground floor, they will soon be transformed into some sort of hotel.

The main floor

Top floor of the tallest of the two buildings.

The tallest building once housed an elevator that was located in the back of the building, all the machinery is now removed and the only traces that are left are all the holes on each floor covered by plywood sheets, and this sign.

Another paper sign is still visible on a rafter on that same floor.

Most of the work was done in the basement, where it seemed that they dug a little deeper and poured a new concrete floor, which clashed with the original stone foundations. The stone built firewall dividing both buildings was also cut at each level to allow people to cross between both buildings.
